New Culture
Posted by TheMegacosm on February 17, 2022 at 10:19 pmI began watching Eric, EVs, YaboiZack and other content creators a little before the lockdowns. During the lockdowns, I realized that the woke are going to ruin everything cultural. There is not going to be one franchise left standing when they are done. It was then that I began to write my own novel because we’re going to need new culture to replace what they are burning down. I look forward to the Rippaverse, I support CG. Is anyone else working on projects that will be a part of this new culture?

I’m working on video games. Culture is a huge deal to me, and I feel like every modern movie and show is a remake. No one has creativity anymore and it is so boring that I’m watching older shows over again.
-
Man, that’s awesome. Wish I had the skill to create videogames lol. It’s a shame how far that industry has fallen. There are still some good games, but not much making me run out to play. And yeah me too. I never got rid of my dvd collect and thank God. With all the censorship, I at least have the originals. And I am tired of these remakes too, and it looks like they are about to ruin the 90s now.

I’m writing my own novel too. I want to adapt it into a comic book and a visual novel if I do finish it one day. I’ve seen a lot of stuff turn woke or creatives show themselves as deranged leftists and while it is sad it will make victory that much sweeter.

Yeah the hardest part is writing the dang thing! I had this idea for years, but it took the lockdowns for me to actually do it. It has been disappointing with just how many creators I grew up with have turned to attacking me, and calling me names. Never meet your heroes.
I’m slowly pushing my work to substack testing the waters. It’s got some views but you have to have a account to get feedback lol.
-
I realized that I never even posted my story that I released to substack. The story pitch is below along with a link to Part 1 of Chapter 1.
“Kevin Jones is a down on his luck Mega-hero named Fiasco in the emerging town of New Haven, Oregon. After years of numerous failures, Kevin inexplicably captures the woman of his dreams. For a time he puts away the mask, and his partnership with the Mega Talon, to be with her, content in the simplicity of hope. Yet, circumstances forces Kevin to don the alter ego of Fiasco once again when he has to to prove that he is worthy of the woman who chose him above all others with predictably disastrous results.”

Hey everyone, posted part 2 of Chapter 1 to my story Fiasco of Adventures!
Here is the link! Thanks for reading if you do.

I have been working on stuff (YT content, graphic novels, etc) but all of them are in the early stages. I’ve been unfortunately getting distracted, which is annoying because I actually want to get my YT channel, Rumble channel, and Odysee channel off the ground before Elden Ring releases. Plan on making that my first game to stream.
However, thanks to Eric and many others, I’m at least glad I have that underlying motivation to see a new counter culture rise from the woke garbage we’re getting now.
-
Yeah, getting started is the hard part, and man, you get props from me! Not sure I can do video, but I wish I could. It would help to have a ready made fanbase to sell to. Kind of starting from the ground up with my efforts.
Let me know when your channels go up!

That’s great. I actually just deleted a YouTube gaming channel last month. I decided to revamp it and relaunch it, probably going to launch in March. I already have 100+ videos from the last channel but I have to re-edit all of them😅. I don’t do or plan on doing any streaming however, just walkthroughs and long plays with light commentary, current and retro games. I also have a travel channel and an entertainment channel I’m working on simultaneously, but I don’t plan on releasing content until around June. It’s hard to get started but I hope once everything is rolling that it’s somewhat simple to sustain.

haha Man you have a lot of work to do. And I get that. I’ve been trying to get started on a this short story but trying to push my substack and my day job, I feel like its a lot harder to find the time. especially since I wrote my story during lockdown where I had nothing but time.

I am working on building a Crypto Content Channel on Rumble, focused specifically on replacing the old monetary systems, especially central banks

Cool, just subbed! And this is sorely needed. If the freedomconvoy taught us anything is that these financial institutions will do as they are told when it comes to the state. Bitcoin wallets companies were the only ones to tell trudeau to shove off.

Awesome thanks! Ever have any questions feel free to hit me up, if I don’t know I know I can find out! 😎🖖

Hey all, just posted Part 1 of Chapter 2: Julianna to substack.
“Meet Julianna Jove (Jo-va) the fourth floor beauty who has struck a friendship with Kevin Jones. Reluctantly hosting a party that quickly grows beyond his control, Kevin is forced to watch as Warren, his best and only friend, flaunts his pursuit of Julianna in front of him.”

“As his party winds down, Kevin entertains his close friends, that includes a game Julianna. As the night turns to morning, time is running out to either share his hidden feelings for Julianna, or lose her to Warren forever.”
Just dropped the second half of Chapter 2 from my story Fiasco of Adventures. Thanks in advanced to anyone who takes the time to read!

I would really like to be a part of this movement. I’ve had plenty of ideas for years. I got a huge boost in my brainstorming during the pandemic. My biggest issue is I have no idea how to get started on any of this. I’ve never created anything before and put it out there. I don’t who to trust or how to build it. It’s part of the reason why I joined this platform.
-
Hey Duke2253, What are you working on? Books, comics, videogames?
-
I’ve got ideas for books and comics. I’ve got one of my stories fully typed, but there’s a good bit I need to rework for the story to be more cohesive. I’ve got a few working chapters for a few of my other stories. My comic ideas I think have a solid foundation but I’m certainly no artist. Again, my biggest issue with all of this is I don’t know where to go with any of it. I might just be overthinking it all. I have an idea for a YouTube like channel too; I probably just need to record a video and upload it, no overthinking.
-
Man you do have multiple poles in the fire! lol. I would definitely follow throw on one. I think once you get one going the rest will follow. I’m no expert on writing whatsoever since this is my first real novel, but what helped me was editing the heck out of my story lol. Then I hired a editor on fiverr or upwork? I had a lot of editors offer their services, and to pick out the one I wanted, I read some of their sample edits, and had them edit the same first 5 pages of mine, then picked the best one. She really whipped my work into shape.
-
I’ve heard editing is really important when it comes to stories. I’ll keep those sites for editing you mentioned in mind for the future. Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement.

No problem. If you ever post any of your work let us know!

I’m currently working on 3 seperate projects, all novels, all in different stages of development.
I am planning on expanding at least one of them in to other mediums depending on success.
I’m looking into self-publishing through Amazon, haven’t looked into substack at all yet; are there benefits to publishing through them?
-
Substack has been fun so far. It has allowed me to get some feedback on my story. I don’t have a big internet presence. I’m not on mainstream media such as insta, tiktok or twitter, and this is just my attempt on trying to get my work out there without Amazon lol. It has given me a link to share on alternate sites, so I appreciate that aspect. I think if you’re going to self publish on Amazon, then you can use substack as a short story forum to get your product out there without having to write a full novel.
I also just recently found this site called webnovel. It looks more like the typical digital novel, although, it doesn’t allow bold or italics. The downside is that I have no idea how to get people to actually read my work lol. There seems to be thousands of writers on this site. I’m sure there is some cheating pay option to artificially inflate your likes, but I don’t want to do that.

That’s good to know. I might look into substack just to throw some stuff out there.
I’m not on social media either. I just deleted my Twitter & Gab, it takes up too much of my time that could be put to far better use.
I’ve thought about starting up a channel on YouTube or Odysee, just don’t want to sound like a parrot.

“After bucking all personal trends and winning Julianna’s heart, Kevin enjoys the time he is able to put away the mask, leaving Fiasco behind. Their time together was a reminder of what happiness could be without carrying that burden, that was, until, the time came that he had to introduce Julianna to his mother and father. It was a meeting that sparked a conversation that would change the course of Kevin’s life.”
Okay, figured out a way to use free images without spending a ton of money on making originals, and just pushed all of the next chapter to my substack. Instead of breaking up the chapter, it makes more sense to read it all at once. If anyone needs this info their their stories just reach out.
Hope you all enjoy, and thanks for reading!
Also, I have been trying out Webnovel by pushing my first chapters there. It kind of looks better. A more traditional online novel look. The only problem is it seems impossible to get anyone to read anything. There might be too many writers on this site, and i’m unwilling to pay for views. Let me know which view you prefer.

Hey all, for the writers on this site and thread, I found another site that seems far superior to webnovel, in Scribble. I like the fact it has more detailed stats, showing views, and how many people are currently reading your story.
If you have a story that you want to get out there, I would give this site a try.

Checking it out now. (Via your work)
Is there a way to see what kind of traffic the site gets?
-
You might not be able to see my own stats but I can see them. For example, I can see that I have 160 views and 4 people currently reading the story. Plus it has slots for planned to read, stopped, paused, and dropped for readers which is awesome. This is more than I get from the other sites.

Yeah I can see what you’re talking about.
Could be a good marketing tool if enough people are using the site.

It’s mostly just me but yup lol. Hoping more people share what they are working on.

Just posted a very short story about a Vampire and his human lover called The Book from my Megacosm storyline. It’s from a character I hope to flesh out in the future, but thought this would be a good introduction. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for reading.

Pretty good man.
I’m not a big vampire fiction fan, but that left turn was a real treat.
-
Ha! Thanks. Glad you read to the end. My proofreader was upset lol.
-
Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. I wish more vampire fiction was like that, feels more honest.

Continuing my ongoing story, this is just a quick interlude chapter, The Jordin Test, in my Fiasco of Adventures story before all heck breaks loose for the Mega. Hope you enjoy!
