Growing up my family was part of that system, had a single mom of 4 sometimes working 3 jobs to try and get by while also receiving state aid, growing up even though my mom was working and still “needed it” to make ends meet. These days I don’t believe in it, I think it’s a broken system that either needs to be rid of or needs a massive overhaul.

These past 2 years have done nothing but encourage people to sit on their asses and collect a check while doing nothing…any incentive to work and actually earn a living in a lot of areas seem to have effectively been removed and a lot of people either believe the state is needed to survive, or just knowing they can make a buck and do a bunch of not shit…

I do think the welfare state only enables the worst of people even if there are a decent amount of people who do work hard and deserve the help. I think charity can help those people the most.

When I was in middle school, we were on welfare for a short time. My dad went out of his way to explain it to me, that we would have more money if he kept us on it, but the right thing to do was for him to work our way out of that situation as a family.

Nowadays I’m blessed that not only do I not need it, but we help others.

Imagine how many more people we could help if we didn’t have the state stealing upwards of 40% off my income!

I saw a video the other day of Kevin Hart saying that the first thing you need to do when you get paid is set aside half because it doesn’t belong to you. No sense of anger from him about that whatsoever! Seems to me, as bad as the theft is, the complacency about the theft is the greater problem.
