Daily Poll 467: Do you care about brands?
Our consumer culture not only demands your constant consumption but they also demand you stake your personality on brands. Brands have been ingrained into our culture to the point that it’s affected our language. Kleenex and Qtips are used interchangeably with tissues and cotton swabs. I do like some brands but the reasoning is usually familiarity or nostalgia at this point. If a company cares too much about brand awareness and building their brand it’s usually to make up for a subpar product. That is just my opinion though. What about you?
