Daily Poll 84: Are you a Tolkien fan?
The new Lord of the Rings show seems like it’s going to be hot garbage in terms of being faithful to the original books. I’ve only read The Hobbit and I really enjoyed it. I want to read the trilogy and watch the films someday after I read through my comics and cross some games off my backlog. I’m not a fan but his world is interesting and spectacular. The Hobbit itself is a fun story and it’s crafted with simple but expressive words. It’s really short I’ve never watched it but The Hobbit is a movie that should have been done in a single 2 hour film not a trilogy but money talks. Just my two thoughts what are yours?

I won’t be watching the new show either. I agree with it should have been a 1 time movie but they just wanted to tie it more into the LotR series. I still enjoyed the Hobbit even with the changes, mainly because I liked the cast.
Tolkien seemed pretty based and stayed true to the world he imagined. Plus Christopher Lee actually met Tolkien and he’s one of my favorite actors ever.

I’m not interested in the new show, but I highly recommend the books. They are excellent and timeless. If you enjoyed the hobbit, you will definitely enjoy the lord of the rings. The movies were pretty good, and are entertaining, but the books are far better.

Loved the Peter Jackson movies. Never got the chance to read the books. Will do that someday.
Never gonna watch the show. I refuse to acknowledge their existence.
