I’d go with Halo. I loved the campaigns for 1 to 3 and reach and Halo 1 was the first fps I ever played. Doom 4 and eternal are both solid games I haven’t played the older Doom games though

Halo, especially 1-3, were the games I grew up with. I would hang out with my cousin at his house just to play the games. Those were good times.
I never played the original doom games. Would have to try them. I only played the 2016 Doom and Doom Eternal. Awesome games. The controls and gameplay took some getting used to, but I enjoyed playing them nonetheless.
In the end, I prefer Doom. The heavy metal soundtrack, crazy and long-enduring battles, and ripping and tearing demons appeals to my taste.

I’d have to say doom just cause that was the first gory game I played as kid and I’m talking the first doom in all it pixelated Glory so many great memories of running around with the chainsaw or the bfg and just going to town god I wish I could go back some times

I experienced Halo first, but never owned an Xbox. I only discovered Doom in the last year (playing Doom 2016 then Eternal). I’ve got to go with Doom because of the nonstop action. I can respect people choosing Halo, and I can admit Master Chief is a badass, but Doom Guy takes the cake.

Probably Halo, because I haven’t played Doom. I just know the music is fucking amazing to work out to, haha.

That depends entirely if you’re okay with only good gameplay and music or if you’re also expecting a phenomenal story and universe surrounding it.
Halo clearly has the story part and also has its own iconic music, but Doom is far more action packed and has that epic heavy metal soundtrack to back it. I wouldn’t personally pick one game’s gameplay over the other because they’re two completely different gameplay styles that are done well. Doom is a run and gun type of game whereas Halo is more of a cover to cover type shooter (at least on higher difficulties).
I always find it odd when people compare these two franchises because they pretty much aim to achieve two opposite things. I’d personally choose Halo as its the first shooter I ever got into, but also because I love the expanded material beyond the games.
