Eric July I watched your YouTube channel daily! And I love your knowledge of comics!

    I have few questions.

<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>But my FIRST question is what back issues comics do I read to start the </font>journey? Or Anyone got recommendation?!

I have some ideas for my comic book. But I WOULD love to learn and be challenging!

What kind of comics do you want to create? If you want to start making comics in generally just go to a LCS or start reading comics that appeal to you and use those as inspiration for the story you want to tell as well as reference for how to make stories work in the comic format. Manga is great as well. I’m writing a novel and I’m going to learn how to draw to make my own comics and a lot of my inspiration is going to be from manga.

I haven’t started the learning process yet but hopefully in about 3 years from now I’ll be doing pencils, inks and lettering.

IMO, first write…like you’re writing a novel, then draw. pencils on 8.5×11 printer paper will work. then draw some more. then get a drawing tablet and some software. Then draw.

I recommend Clip Studio Paint. it’s not as dope as Photoshop, but it cost significantly less.
