I got my Rippaverse order today and I’ve read through Isom #1 and Dokumaan’s cards and I’m impressed by the quality of everything. The book and cards felt great to hold. On to reviewing the book itself:

Eric said Isom #1 was a launching pad for the Rippaverse. An ever expanding comic book universe. Isom #1 achieves this in my mind with near perfection and builds a strong foundation for so many stories set in an interesting universe. The art is fantastic the pencil and inks pop off the page and the coloring brings it to life along with the fantastic lettering. This book explores a lot but doesn’t dive in too deep and there is some heavy exposition at times but it’s done snappy and the action pulls through and keeps you reading. The characters are all well written and Isom’s personality shines through the whole time. I loved reading this book as it was a great story in and of itself and it hints at a strong timeline of great events that will lead to even more great story telling and great comics to read.

I have read the book. I haven’t got the cards and the concept art book in yet. But it is almost a perfect start to the Rippaverse. You see some great potential for complex characters. The story is intriguing. The visuals are top-notch. High quality material used in making the book. And you see the passion and care behind it all.
