Exactly what it says on the tin, this is what I think is going to happen in Isom #3 based on we know from 1 and 2.

Considering Eric July said that Ill-Advised is a three-part story arc, this third book will serve as the climax of this arc, so it needs to resolve its various story threads satisfactorily.

To get the obvious out of the way, the first thread is Isom getting Jasmine back from Darren, and the second is with the Hellians, who look poised to use Sam to track down Isom and kill him.

Less obvious is how Alphacore, Yaira and Lincoln tie into it all, and least obviously the seeming throw-away character of Larry Shungite.

How do all of these connect?

    Here’s how, I think:

Isom, after being done with Sam and Bloodruth, goes after Darren for attacking his sister, but learns that his sister and niece are under attack at Projexus from Darren’s goons, as he’s used the opening from Lincoln’s absence to go after them.

This is where Yaira comes in, revealed in #2 to be working at Projexus, as she helps protect them, then afterwards she and Isom find out where Darren is from the goons in question – he’s dealing with Larry Shungite.

In Isom #1, Darren said “Tonight is the moneymaker,” and while this doesn’t get touched on for the rest of the issue, #2 shows how the SSWL recently had a new champion and Larry – the former champion – implies that funny business happened to deny him a successful defense of his title.

Darren, it appears, helped fix the match in order to make money on the betting, and because Larry’s “gone rogue,” Darren needs to get him in line to keep this from getting out and ruining his empire.

Isom and Yaira show up, Santwan is maybe there to help deal with Larry, and it’s at this point that Alphacore and the Hellian Chief show up, the former for Yaira after checking out Projexus, and the latter for Isom after tracking Sam and getting info out of him.

Massive fight ensues, Hellian Chief and Darren are defeated, heroes walk away in various stages of battered and bruised, Isom’s powers are revealed, and Jasmine is gotten back.

(Don’t know if Jasmine is either simply a toy for Darren or an important piece of leverage he uses to gain power over important figures, story isn’t clear enough on that to let me confidently guess.)

Aftereffects are that Isom is officially back in the game, Michael and Lillian take advantage of Darren’s loss to establish themselves in the Florespark underworld, and the chaos of the battle attracts the attention of Norfrica and Dokumaan, the former for the demons, the latter for the gathering of Excepts.

But that’s just my theory, what do you all think?

Honestly a pretty good story. I do think Alphacore #1 will give us more insight into the events of the Ill-Advised arc and we’ll be able to make better predications. I would say the same for Yaira #1 as I think her scene in Isom #2 will be a big part of her first issue.

Hopefully, we’ll get interactions with Santwan, and the wrestling federation😎
