Networking with like minded people
I think this a great opportunity to start up the community. I am getting deep in the weeds of 3d printing. I am about 8 months into 3d printing and now starting to get into functional designing. You can guess what it the end goal is. I would like to support others that have trades on here. Anyone into machining or wood working? These are things that I printed so far.

Wishing much success to you. I have a buddy who is a CNC machinist, built himself a receiver from scratch, then finished with a kit. Works like a charm. He says that all it really takes is the plans and he can make almost anything. I’m a heavy equipment operator. Lead man on a mobile rock crushing outfit, came from doing grading and various construction fields.

Also! Your work is sick as fuck! You know that Manga Beserk? Looks like his sword kind of on the table. You every make like, sculptures?

Berserk is my favorite manga. That is my first love of Manga. No adaptation has or will do it justice. That is 100% the Dragon slayer. I am starting to make stencils of a lot of DBZ stuff. I would love to send over cad files over to you. I am a designer for a engineering firm. We come up with the grading plans also.

Just finished the first book (deluxe version). Never read any other Manga or comic book. No way I’m getting into DC or Marvel at this point.
Berserk fucking blew me away. I’m like a cracked head waiting to get my hands on the next book 😂

I haven’t made a sculpture yet, but I know I can do it. Check out this website called thingverse.com. open source STL files for 3d printing.

So you download the files, then you put them into a slicing program that converts the file into G code or a language that the printer uses (x,y, z coordinates). I use Cura program because it is free and pretty good. Another website you should check out is Ctrlpew.com. That’s the rabbit hole I went down.

Impressive work and thank you for sharing with all of us.
Curious whether you know know of any way to turn recycled materials into the input material for the printer. Obviously wood can be harvested somewhat freely, but just curious if there is any meaningful way to use these printers with metal and plastic in a prolonged SHTF situation.
I think it may be because I have been listening to so much Free Man Beyond the wall, where they are doing a deep dive into Ted Kaczynski’s criticisms of industrial society and technology that I keep thinking about low/no tech and decentralized solutions.
Congrats again on your impressive work in a short amount of time.
Perhaps you might find some repeat business from auto mechanics and appliance repair shops.

So from what I have seen on YT, it takes more energy and resources to recycle the materials for the printer. It’s very sciency, (glass state convert to crystal state) but not very viable. I am always interested in self sufficiency. Currently growing a small batch of crops before winter comes.

Sand casting with 3d prints with aluminum is the best I can do for now.

That makes sense and hope your winter harvest goes well. Would be curious to see whether and how the materials input side ends up evolving. I know it seems like you can print a wider spectrum of materials, but would obviously love to see if we could figure out a way to source the inputs in the most decentralized low tech way as possible.
I have seen those impressive YT videos of guys in India or Pakistan doing pretty large sand castings and pours of molten steel and aluminum. They’re often barefoot too lol

Badass as hell designs dude 🤩. 3D printing is something I should look more into, especially now that society is going down the toilet worldwide. Do you recommend a site or resource for one looking to dip his toes into 3D printing?

I just tried printing an AR-15 lower over night and woke up to a mess. Its back to the drawing board again. Honestly, its an awesome hobby.
