“Obesity” Actually Has No Link With Covid Hospitalizations
About 50% of people hospitalized for covid out of 148,494 across 238 hospitals were “obese” gathered from the study. Well, if I told you about 50% were women too would that be surprising? No, because about 50% of the population are women. Well, according to the CDC, 42% of the US population are “obese”. So there is actually only a small correlation between “obesity” and covid hospitalizations as 42 don’t seem that far off from 50 to me. But correlation doesn’t imply causation, and I have an alternative explanation for the 8% point difference, age. People tend to gain weight, both in muscle mass and fat, in there 20s and 30s. So there is a slight positive correlation between “obesity” and age. Age is actually a known risk factor for covid hospitalizations, weight on the other hand is not. The CDC must not understand basic statistics or even logic for that matter, or they have ulterior motives that don’t involve informing the public. They should publicly choose one.
