Today some shit went down at my work. It’s really just petty, but I found it disgusting and pretty offensive.

One of the customer service ladies said she wanted to buy pizza for everybody this Friday while talking to another employee. Our HR manager overheard this and chimes in that they can’t do that. Second employee jokes “well, it’s better to ask forgiveness than permission.” Two hours later, both employees have been pulled aside for a 1 on 1 meeting with our finance manager who reprimands both of them. This is already an insane response to a nice gesture of appreciation but it gets better. Our benevolent HR manager pops into the customer service office to inform the woman who wanted to buy everyone pizza that she can’t do that “because of the unvaccinated.”

Apparently HR didn’t realize that this employee was not vaccinated due to a medical condition and a doctors recommendation that she not get the vaccine. I found out about this because she was pissed off and walked around telling everyone about this encounter.

Seeing how I’m not vaccinated and have no plan of caving in on this issue, I found this pretty offensive. I’m not a fucking leper.

Fun side note, everyone here who has had covid, was vaccinated.

One last piece of context, there are pretty much always trays of cookies, bags of candy assortments, and occasionally bowls of m&ms and the like sitting out in the break room area. That has never been regarded as a problem. But apparently pizza would spread covid because reasons as mr July likes to say.

I got the Pfizer vaccine about as soon as I could. My dad got me the appointment and I didn’t think all that much about it at the time. I had about a day and a half of being sick and I haven’t any issues since. I’m not getting a booster shot I’m done with being Pfizer’s lab rat.

Sorry to hear stories like this. I am lucky to work in a small office where everyone gets along despite being about a 50-50 split in terms of getting the vaccine.

In a way I am glad to see political discourse disintegrate in real time because it gives hope of both sides wanting to separate, I just hope it happens peacefully.

Not sure if you watch Dave Smith and Michael Malice but today they pointed out something that people need to be reminded of if they are approaching the cliff on Covid hysteria…’A person can’t spread Covid if they don’t have it.’

I’m a semi regular listener to Michael Malaces podcast and generally enjoy his content. I’ll look for this, thanks for the tip. Simple wisdom is often the easiest to ignore. Can’t spread a disease you don’t have. What a concept. lol.

Damn right we aren’t. It’s insanely sad and frustrating how unvaccinated people are being reviled as outcasts. What happens when the vaccinated get sick? Being unvaccinated and being ill aren’t crimes. I’m tired of this.

I’m tired of it too. Still have mask mandates, and vaccine mandates to be in restaurants and bars in the county I live in and constantly hear things about how the unvaxxed are the cause of basically any societal problems of today. It’s highly irritating and downright exhausting to deal with. A middle finger and eye roll is typically the simplest and most appropriate response to these emotional bigots.
